Reflection & New Goal Statement
こんばんは、 みなさん。
It's been 7 weeks now, and it's time to talk a little about what I've been able to do with prosody so far. Last time I outlined some activities that I wanted to do to improve my prosody skills. I've been able to attend most of the Japanese language tables and Shibata-sensee's office hours. I have been able to better recognize and reproduce pitch patterns in Japanese words, although there's still some work to do. However, I haven't been able to listen to recordings or anime as often as I'd like to.
In the future, I will try to do the listening exercises more often. I also feel that I should start working on my pronunciation, and especially speed while talking in Japanese, so that it sounds more natural. To accomplish this, I will start doing shadowing for ten minutes at least once every two days, and more often if possible.

PE Goal Statement
んばんは、 みなみなさん。
Today, I'd like to talk a little bit about prosody.
Japanese is very different from the other languages I know so far, so naturally I have some problems. In particular, I think that my recognition and reproduction of pitch patterns in Japanese words and phrases is far from perfect and needs significant improvement. I also need to work on sentence intonations.
To this end, I will do the following activities:
1) Listen to the recordings from the textbook and watch anime and try to recognize the pitch patterns in some of the phrases that I hear.
2) Visit Shibata-sensee's office hours so that we may practice pitch and intonation.
3) Go to Japanese language table every week to improve my listening abilities.
